- Part of the hearing when a respondent presents evidence and arguments against the other side. (After hearing the claimant’s evidence, the tribunal started to hear the response’s evidence.)
- Documents containing the respondent’s facts and arguments. (A party must file a response after being served with a claim.)
- Legal concept that justifies behaviour that would otherwise be illegal. (The response explained why the person was fired without any warning. This is also called defence of cause.)
