- When a court checks a tribunal’s decision to make sure it was correct. (When an appeal is possible, it can be “as of right” [a party does not need permission to appeal] or “with leave” [a party must obtain permission to appeal].)
- A party who disagrees with a tribunal’s decision may appeal the decision to a higher court. (Decisions made by some tribunals cannot be appealed.)
